Mookie Betts announced on Thursday that his podcast 'On Base with Mookie Betts' will return for its fourth season.
The first guest of the show will be Jo Adell.
What's Next for Mookie Betts?
Mookie Betts is the active leader in World Series victories with four wins, one with the Boston Red Sox and three with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He signed a $300 million+ extension to stay in Los Angeles for possibly the remainder of his career.
Mookie Betts' 2026 Season So Far
Mookie Betts missed a few weeks in 2026 due to an oblique injury but has returned to his full-time role on the Dodgers infield.
Over 16 games this season, Betts is hitting .194 with four home runs, two doubles, and nine runs driven in.
His OPS is .694, which is well below his career-average OPS of .879.
Career Accolades
Mookie Betts is certainly headed for the Hall of Fame with his list of MLB accolades, including 2018 MVP Winner, 8X MLB All-Star, 7X Silver Slugger, 6X Gold Glove, and batting champion in 2018 with a .346 average.
The Los Angeles Dodgers superstar shortstop has played in just 16 games, which isn't a big enough sample size to judge such a tenured MLB veteran like Betts.
But the dips in his production are somewhat of a larger trend, which is that Mookie Betts isn't slugging like he used to, with 51 extra-base hits and a slugging percentage in the low .400s over his past 166 games.
And he had a seven-year streak of slugging higher than .490 from 2018 to 2024.
So his switch to shortstop at the beginning of 2025 could have a slight impact on his offense.
The first episode of 'On Base with Mookie Betts' season 4 will feature Jo Adell, with sneak peeks already available.
Rodney Knuppel, a Sporting News writer, described the show as one of the more unique player-driven projects in professional sports, giving fans relaxed and personal conversations with big names in baseball.
